Women For Women

Women For Women  is a program founded by a woman who saw a need for more accessible safe spaces for women the in our community.

a woman alone has power; collectively we have impact!

My Intentional Family of Canada - Empowering Communities

A woman alone has power; collectively we have impact.

Women For Women  is a philosophy and a movement promoting female solidarity, mutual empowerment, and collaboration over competition, aiming to foster environments where women can achieve their full potential by uplifting one another through sharing experiences, inspiration, and tangible support in personal and professional spheres. This platform provides a vital support network, particularly for navigating the unique challenges women face, and leads to greater collective success and personal fulfillment.

Key Aspects of Women For Women

  • Solidarity and Empowerment: The core idea is the importance of female bonds, creating a culture of encouragement and mutual understanding.
  • Inspiration and Role Models: Seeing other women succeed serves as powerful motivation, making it easier for others to envision and achieve their own goals.
  • A Safe Space for Connection: It provides a universal space for women to share experiences, both successes and struggles, creating a sense of belonging and reducing feelings of isolation.
  • Collaboration Over Competition: It shifts the focus from a perceived scarcity of opportunities to a belief that there's enough success to go around, fostering collaboration instead of rivalry.
  • Navigating Challenges: A strong network of female peers can offer invaluable advice and shared strategies for overcoming societal, cultural, and systemic hurdles that disproportionately affect women.

 How to Participate

  • Cultivate Relationships: Prioritize building genuine connections rather than simply networking.
  • Amplify Others: Actively promote and support the achievements of other women.
  • Share Experiences: Be open to sharing your own journey and learning from others' experiences.
  • Be a Mentor and Mentees: Offer guidance to those coming up behind you and seek out mentors to guide you.
  • Support Women-Owned Businesses: Create opportunities for other women entrepreneurs to succeed.

im/migrant gender based violence (gbv) awareness program

Im/migrant women experience gender based violence (GBV) upon immigrating to Canada due to numerous barriers and challenges associated with their multiple marginalities at the intersection of race, gender, class, and place of origin. They also experience challenges disclosing and reporting abuse. Accessing culturally appropriate support  services also makes navigating intersecting challenges and legal processes in the event of a separation and/or divorce even more complicated.

Through a solution based approach, Im/migrant Gender Based Violence (GBV) Awareness Program's goal is to raise awareness about gender based violence against im/migrant women, and educate communities to recognize the signs and risks , and equip them with the necessary tools to support those experiencing gender based violence.   This program provides GBV information resources, supportive counselling, and referrals to women experiencing or at risk of abuse, as well as public education workshops on violence and abuse.
